Baboons forage in floodplain

2 Mar

Having lost the leopard, we decide to make our way back to camp. Just south of Jesse’s pools we come across a large troop of baboons feeding in the floodplain. They are still taking advantage of the nutritious summer grass.

There are several young with this troop and they, as always, are continually playing. A pair of youngsters scramble over one-another in an attempt to get the attention of a nearby adult. Beyond them, a mother caries her newborn baby, clinging precariously to her belly.
