Emus (Dromaius novaehollandiae) are large, flightless birds native to Australia, although farmed in many other countries. They are related to ostriches.
Emus are fast runners, reaching speeds of up to 50km per hour (30mph). They are social, living in groups called flocks on open grasslands and savannahs. They can live up to 30 years.
