Flickr group: pic of the day – lemon shark Mar 25 2008
Lemon sharks (Negaprion brevirostris) are found in tropical and sub-tropical waters, usually along the Atlantic coast of the Americas.
Full grown adults average about 2.4m (8’10”), but the largest lemon shark on record was over 3.9m (12’).
This lemon shark photo has been chosen as our Earth-Touch Flickr group “picture of the day”.
It was taken by group member Wolfgang Leander (aka Oceanic Dreams), using a Nikonos V, while free-diving off Tiger Beach in the Bahamas.
