Flickr group: pic of the day – red-eyed tree frog Apr 11 2008
Red-eyed tree frogs (Agalychnis callidryas) are slender, delicate frogs whose brilliant green bodies have pale blue vertical bars on the side. They are rain-forest creatures, found in Central and South America.
This photo was taken by our Earth-Touch Flickr group member Mark (AKA Mtaczak), using a Canon Eos Digital Rebel, in Monteverde, Costa Rica.
It is our Earth-Touch Flickr group “picture of the day”.
Mark said: “Monteverde is a cloud forest with a lot of precipitation that is actually just condensation from the clouds and not really rain. The species is Agalychnis callidryas, and they’re not quite endangered or threatened, but their habitat is disappearing quickly.”
