18 Nov

Fridays are all about winding down and making weekend plans so we never post anything too serious on these most cheerful days of the working week. Instead, we bring you some visually inspiring photos from our Flickr group.

3. Slim pickings!! by Picture Taker 2

Hyenas at a zebra carcass.

A spotted hyaena trying to get some leftovers off a pretty well worked-over carcass as the vultures look on. This hyaena has a pretty good wound just under its right ear that has healed pretty well. It would be intresting to know how the zebra met its end. The carcass is in a pretty unusual position. Shot on the plains of the Masai Mara, Kenya, Africa.

Lioness beside a termite mound.

Lions might reign over the African savannah, but there are small & secret kingdoms bustling away right under their noses.

8. RED TAIL! by Picture Taker 2

Tail of a red-tailed hawk

Did you ever wonder if a "RED-TAILED HAWK" really has a red tail? Well, wonder NO more! Captured at "Camera Day" at the Bird Sanctuary, this shot pretty much tells the whole story.
