Fridays are all about winding down and making weekend plans so we never post anything too serious on these most cheerful days of the working week. Instead, we bring you some visually inspiring photos from our Flickr group.
1. Get off my nest! by Ian Billenness

A female Amazon Kingfisher has, perhaps unintentionally, chosen a fishing perch on the end of of a log where a Tropical Kingbird had made her nest. She was none too pleased with this invader and there ensued a few minutes of drama as she saw her off.

10. The odd couple by Picture Taker 2

A hippopotamus and a cattle egret walk together on the Amboseli Plains of Kenya, Africa. Looks like a strange pair to be together but there they are. Notice all the fresh scrapes on the hippo's side and its "shortened tail".

These are all wonderful! I can’t take my eyes off on that colorful bird!
